Christmas Blessing Giveaway 2013

Christmas time is here again! I just love the holiday season. It's so awesome to see the difference in people and the joy that this season brings. Christmas has always been my favorite holiday and it truly is the best time of the year. Growing up I would always feel the magic and joy of Christmas. And now I feel the same emotions with my kids as we celebrate with them. One thing we always did was watch Christmas movies with my parents. From Rudolph to Frosty, it didn't matter, as long as we watched them together. My parents always made Christmas good at our house. They couldn't always afford to get us a whole bunch of presents, even though we did get quite a bit. But they made the season magical. And they let us kids be kids, and in turn it brought out the kid in them.

We made it an absolute must to decorate the tree and house as a family while listening to Christmas music. And we couldn't forget the incredibly long Christmas list that we would send to Santa a few weeks before Christmas. On Christmas Eve, we would always bake cookies and leave them for Santa with a glass of milk, and we would even leave out carrots for the reindeer. Then we would go to bed and try to stay up all night just so we could catch Santa delivering our presents.

On Christmas Day, we would get up extremely early and drag my parents out of bed. We couldn't understand why they were so tired. My parents would video tape us ripping and tearing the wrapping paper to get to our presents. All the while, they were grinning from ear to ear to see the joy on our faces. After we were done unwrapping all of our treasures, we would head out to my grandmas house to spend time with the whole family. We would see our grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins that we didn't get to see very often, so that time with them was extremely special. Then we would head home and relax and play with our new toys.

Christmas time is a blessing even more now than when I was a kid. I now know the reason for the season is more than just gifts. It's about Jesus. So I get to have even more joy during the Christmas season than I ever knew before! And my kids get to experience that same joy!
