Train Up a Child (and a Mother's Day Giveaway)

I am one blessed Mama! I have three beautiful blessings from God that I call my sons! They are the loves of my life and they are the best things that have ever happened to me. I am a "Boy Mom". They are each a blessing to both me and my husband! We are a church going family. Our whole family on my husbands side goes to the same church and my mom (in law) is the pastor there. My husband is a deacon there as well. We are there at least twice a week, and any other time we need to do something for the church. Meetings, fixing things, printing bulletins, doing something that needs to be done, etc. We are at church usually more than the two times a week there is service. And the majority of the time, our kids are there with us. I prefer it that way. They see what we are doing and why we are doing it. They see us in church on more days than just service days. It is the norm for them. And I wouldn't have it any other way. My husband and his family were the same way growing up. They were at church every time the doors were open. And they were all there as a family. They were raised as that being the norm. And guess what... Every one of them are in church as adults serving God! That is what I want my kids to do as adults. So I will raise my kids in the church, and when they are adults, they will still be in church, hopefully raising their families the same way. I'm not saying my kids will never stray, I pray they won't. But if we raise our kids in the church, the Bible tells me they will not depart from it when they are adults! And that is why we do what we do. That is why we are active in church. And I don't mind going there and doing stuff that needs to be done because my kids see that, and know that is what we are supposed to do as adults. Love and Serve God! It is so important to have the kids in church on Sundays, and even Wednesdays. To have them read their Bibles, and get to know God. To have those things be their normal everyday lives. And when they are adults, if they are not doing those things, they will feel like they are missing something and turn back to Jesus!

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:6

We as moms (and dads), have a really big job to do. We have to train up our kids to love and serve God, because if we don't, the world will teach them not to! That's the hardest, biggest and most important job I can think of, and I wouldn't change my job for the world!!
