Captive (Review and GIVEAWAY!!!)

By: Melissa Baker

Captive is an amazing story and as I was reading this book, I couldn't help but put myself in the main characters shoes. What would I do if this happened to me? How would I react? The author was honest and straight forward throughout the whole book about everything that happened while she was being held hostage. This book proves that God can use anyone, in any situation for His glory... you just have to be a willing vessel. I would highly recommend this book to anyone!

About the Book:

CAPTIVE, based on a miraculous true story that drew the attention of the entire nation, is a thrilling drama about the spiritual collision of two broken lives. When Brian Nichols- on the run as a subject of a city wide manhunt and desperate to make contact with his newborn son- takes recovering meth addict Ashley Smith hostage in her own apartment, she turns for guidance to Rick Warren's best selling inspirational book, The Purpose Driven Life. While reading aloud, Ashley and her would-be killer each face crossroads where despair and death intersect hope.

A Love Letter from God (review and giveaway!)

This book is such a great book for kids! It explains how much God loves us and what he does to show us that love. It is written as if it is a love letter directly from God to His precious children. It explains how nothing can pry God away from us because he loves us so much! We are perfect in His eyes and this book expresses that in so many ways. My boys loved this book and it made them realize how special they are to God. I highly recommend this book if you have children. It is an excellent reminder for us adults as well. It's so easy to forget how much God loves us sometimes. I really enjoyed reading this book with my kids and feeling Gods love for me as well.

In this story, the author supposes what God might say in a personal letter written to a child. The unconditional and unlimited nature of God's love is revealed through a simple and lyrical language. Rich and textured illustrations, along with heart-shaped cutouts, will make this uplifting book a family favorite. It is a great message for little ones on Valentine's Day, or for everyday inspiration. A Love Letter from God will remind children of God's eternal love and how He demonstrates that love through everyday miracles and by the wonder of His presence. Thanks to the colorful and touching illustrations of Laura Watson, children will also learn how to appreciate their own individuality and how to use their unique gifts to be a blessing to others.
